Privacy Policy
Who we are
This website is run by Amity Innovation Limited, a New Zealand company. In this policy "we" and "our" mean that company. We are the organization responsible for the information described here, and we are answerable for it.
You can reach us at hello@amity.co.nz or on +64 9 480 2720.
What this site collects
Nothing you type.
There is no contact form on this site, no newsletter signup and no login. Nothing you type into this website reaches us, because there is nothing to type into.
If you email or call us.
We hold what you choose to tell us, and we use it to reply and to consider your inquiry. We do not add you to a marketing list.
Analytics, and only if you say yes.
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 records how you found the site and which pages and links you used, under property G-W0J4FBZ84W. We load it directly, with no tag manager. Until you accept, it is not loaded at all, so nothing is sent and no cookie is set.
Technical data needed to deliver the page.
Like every website, ours cannot send you a page without knowing where to send it. Our hosting and security provider receives your IP address, the address of the page you asked for, your browser type and similar network information, purely in order to serve the site and to block attacks on it. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in delivering the site and protecting it, and that data may be processed outside New Zealand.
Your consent, and how to withdraw it
Nothing is written to cookies or storage before you decide, apart from the record of your decision itself. Declining is exactly as easy as accepting, and no box is ticked for you.
You can change your mind at any time from the Cookies control in the footer of every page. Withdrawing takes effect immediately: we withdraw the consent signal, record your decision, delete the analytics cookies from your device and reload the page, after which the analytics script is never loaded again. Opening the control and closing it without choosing changes nothing.
Everything this site stores on your device
| WHAT | WHY | HOW LONG |
|---|---|---|
| Your consent decision, in your browser's own storage | So you are asked once, not on every page | Until you clear your browser's site data |
_ga, set by Google, only after you accept | Tells one browser from another, so visits can be counted | 2 years, or until you withdraw |
_ga_W0J4FBZ84W, set by Google, only after you accept | Holds the state of your session for this property | 2 years, or until you withdraw |
That is the complete list. There are no advertising cookies, no social pixels, no session recording and no embedded third parties.
Who receives your information
| WHO | WHAT THEY GET | WHY |
|---|---|---|
| Our hosting and security provider | Your IP address and request data | Serves this site and protects it from attack |
| Google LLC | Your analytics activity, but only if you accepted | Provides the analytics |
| Our email provider | Your email, if you email us | Runs our email |
Google is named because you are being asked to accept its cookies and its cookie names identify it either way. Each of these acts on our instructions, and none of them is permitted to use your information for their own purposes.
Where your information goes, and for how long
New Zealand, the United States and elsewhere. Our providers operate global networks, so some information is processed offshore. The Privacy Act allows this where the receiving party is required to protect the information to a comparable standard, and each of them is contractually bound to protect it and to act only on our instructions.
Analytics data is kept for 14 months, which is the longest a standard Google Analytics property allows, and then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email hello@amity.co.nz and tell us what you want. We will ask for enough information to be confident you are who you say you are, and no more than that. We will answer your request within 20 working days, which is the maximum the Privacy Act allows. If a request is genuinely complicated and needs longer, we will tell you why before the deadline rather than after it.
Complaints
If you think we have handled your information badly, tell us first at hello@amity.co.nz. We would rather fix it than have it escalated.
You do not have to come to us first. You can complain directly to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or on 0800 803 909. If you are outside New Zealand, you can also complain to the data protection authority for your own country.
