Who we are
This website is run by Amity Innovation Limited, a New Zealand company. In this policy "we" and "our" mean that company. We are the organization responsible for the information described here, and we are answerable for it.

What this site collects
Nothing you type.
There is no contact form on this site, no newsletter signup and no login. Nothing you type into this website reaches us, because there is nothing to type into.
If you email or call us.
We hold what you choose to tell us, and we use it to reply and to consider your inquiry. We do not add you to a marketing list.
Anonymous visit statistics, unless you opt out.
We use Plausible Analytics to count which pages are read, how visitors arrived, roughly where in the world they are, what kind of device they use, and how many tap our phone number or email address. It also measures how far down each page you scroll and how long the page is open, and counts clicks on links to other websites. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and gives you no identifier. Because nothing here identifies you, we do not ask first. Instead we tell you plainly what is counted, and you can opt out, free, with one click below.
Technical data needed to deliver the page.
Like every website, ours cannot send you a page without knowing where to send it. Our hosting and security provider receives your IP address, the address of the page you asked for, your browser type and similar network information, purely in order to serve the site and to block attacks on it. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in delivering the site and protecting it, and that data may be processed outside New Zealand.
How we count visits, and how to opt out
Plausible Analytics. Plausible Analytics is a privacy-focused analytics service run by a company in Estonia, with its data stored in Germany. Our pages load its small script, which sends the address of the page, the address of the page you came from, and the clicks described above. Plausible's servers use your IP address and browser details to work out your approximate location and device, and to tell one visit from another on the same day, using a code that changes every day and cannot be traced back to you. It does not store your IP address or your browser details.
Opting out.
One click, here, at any time:
Your browser is set to send a privacy signal (Global Privacy Control), so this website is already not counting your visits. There is nothing to click.
The button stops Plausible Analytics counting you. The page reloads, and the page you were on sends one last note of how far down it you scrolled and how long it was open. After that, nothing is sent from your browser. To remember your choice, we store one marker in your browser, the same for everyone who opts out, which contains nothing about you. Click again to be counted again. If your browser is set to send a privacy signal (Global Privacy Control), we treat that as an opt-out automatically, and you do not need to click anything.

That is the complete list. If you never opt out, this site stores nothing on your device at all. There are no cookies, no advertising, no social pixels, no session recording and no embedded third parties.

Plausible is named because it is the one service that counts visits on this site. Each of these acts on our instructions, and none of them is permitted to use your information for their own purposes.
Where your information goes, and for how long
New Zealand, the European Union, the United States and elsewhere. Our hosting and email providers operate global networks, so some information is processed offshore, and Plausible stores its data in Germany. The Privacy Act allows this where the receiving party is required to protect the information to a comparable standard, and each of them is contractually bound to protect it and to act only on our instructions.
Plausible keeps its statistics for as long as this website uses it, and they are deleted when it stops. They contain nothing that identifies you.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email hello@amity.co.nz and tell us what you want. We will ask for enough information to be confident you are who you say you are, and no more than that. We will answer your request within 20 working days, which is the maximum the Privacy Act allows. If a request is genuinely complicated and needs longer, we will tell you why before the deadline rather than after it. You can also opt out of being counted at any time, with one click on this page.
Complaints
If you think we have handled your information badly, tell us first at hello@amity.co.nz. We would rather fix it than have it escalated.
You do not have to come to us first. You can complain directly to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or on 0800 803 909. If you are outside New Zealand, you can also complain to the data protection authority for your own country.
